Tom Smith and the Royal Warrant Holders Association Charity Anniversary Christmas Donation to Velindre Cancer Hospital

Over the last 170 years, Christmas Crackers have become a traditional part of Christmas festivities, originating in 1847 when Tom Smith’s creativity and hard work resulted in the invention of the cracker we know and love today.

Since 1906 Tom Smith has held a Royal Warrant for the supply of Christmas Crackers to the Royal Household by appointment of Her Majesty the Queen.

This year Tom Smith Celebrates the 175th Anniversary of the invention of the Christmas Cracker.

Tom Smith is part of the Royal Warrant Holders Association which has its very own Charity. 2022 marks the 125th Anniversary of the Charity Fund!  So far this year, the Charity Fund has given grants to over 40 charities.

Through the support of the Royal Warrant Charity & Tom Smith, we were today delighted to present Velindre Cancer Hospital with a donation of £2500.

The Cardiff & Vale Hospice provides the reassurance of round-the-clock expert care and support to people living with a terminal illness. Marie Curie nurses provide hands on care and also emotional support to patients and their families. Marie Curie nurses and the wider hospice team of doctors, therapists, social workers, chaplains and counsellors work together to help patients achieve the best possible quality of life.

In addition to the donation, Tom Smith were delighted to honour their Anniversary by donating Christmas Crackers to all of the Nurses patients at the Marie Curie Hospice for them to all enjoy this Christmas.
