Product
We recognise that the nature of many of our products makes it even more important to leverage world-class design and innovation to create high-quality products that use sustainable materials and cutting-edge processes to minimise our environmental impact.

Innovation-led sustainability
Design Group is committed to actively researching and implementing ways to reduce the waste and pollution that our business is responsible for. Annually, we track and report our progress in enhancing the recyclability, eliminating single-use plastics, and increasing the use of recycled content in our products and packaging.
We minimise the amount of printing taking place by working with virtual files where possible.
We remain dedicated to introducing new products that consider our impact on the planet. This includes removing all glitter from our branded products, exploring alternative finishes and special inks to maintain product variety, and continuing to develop reusable elements to extend the lifespan of each product.

Better choices
For packaging, our product and manufacturing teams collaborate to minimise material usage, where possible removing it altogether. When this is not feasible, we offer recyclable alternatives, including our patented shrink free wrapping solution – Smartwrap.
To ensure clear communication and full transparency regarding the sustainability and recyclability of our products, we have removed any symbols or messages that could be misleading to the consumer. We are dedicated to simplifying and clarifying on-pack messaging, which is why we prominently feature the ‘On-Pack Recycling Label’ (OPRL) symbols on the back of our packaging.
Sustainability throughout our supply chain
At Design Group UK, we prioritise sourcing materials responsibly, with a clear focus on minimising environmental impact. Recognising that paper accounts for a significant proportion of our raw materials, we are dedicated to ensuring it is sustainably sourced through robust policies and practices. Our approach includes partnering with certified suppliers and implementing a Wood and Paper Purchasing Policy that supports our commitment to sustainability.

Compliance
In addition, we are dedicated to upholding the highest values throughout our supply chain, including ensuring fair working conditions and respecting human rights at every stage.
By fostering strong, transparent relationships with our raw material and finished goods partners, we implement robust policies and procedures to drive legal and ethical compliance across the supply chain.
To enhance the visibility of our supply chain, we have developed a comprehensive supplier management tool for our buying and technical departments. This system features a robust on-boarding process for potential new suppliers, monitors the performance of existing partners, and tracks supplier grading based on their capabilities and compliance.
