IG Design Group UK Ltd: Championing Community Support with a Landmark Donation to Trussell Trust

As part of our ongoing commitment to social responsibility, Tom Smith and Polaris of IG Design Group UK, is delighted to announce a significant contribution to the Trussell Trust, made on the 30th of April, 2024. Our collaborative efforts have led to the presentation of a cheque for £103,000, affirming our dedication to the fight against hunger and poverty across the UK.

Of this total, an incredible £3,000 was generously donated by the Royal Warrant Holders Association Charity, a recognition that stems from our esteemed Royal Warrant, which Tom Smith has proudly held since 1906. This warrant not only signifies the quality and trust in our products but also opened the door for us to apply for this charitable donation, further strengthening our community impact.

The Trussell Trust plays a pivotal role in providing practical support to people who can’t afford the essentials through a network of over 1,400 food banks centres across the UK, and campaigning for a future where none of us need to use emergency food to get by. They provide emergency food aid and support to individuals and families facing hardship while advocating for systemic changes to end the need for food banks in the UK.

Their efforts ensure that people who don’t have enough money to afford the essentials receive  support beyond just food. Food banks in the Trussell Trust network also offer holistic support and advice to people, often at their toughest moment, in two ways – through funding advisers at food banks, and through the Help through Hardship free telephone helpline with Citizens Advice. This wraparound approach connects people with wider support and puts more money into their pockets, making it far less likely someone will need a food bank in the future.

This contribution reflects the ethos of Tom Smith, where every purchase of our crackers and UK-made cards translates into meaningful support for those in need. To date, our initiatives have raised over £306,000 for the Trussell Trust, helping to strengthen their crucial work.
