Design Group UK Strengthens Commitment to Environmental Responsibility
At Design Group UK, we are dedicated to taking steps towards reducing our net CO2 emissions and actively supporting a sustainable future in alignment with our Environmental and Sustainability Policy.
This year, we have continued our partnership with the Woodland Trust, investing in woodland creation as a key component of our transition plan to achieve Net Zero. The Woodland Trust’s tree planting initiatives, to sequester carbon dioxide, play a crucial role in reducing our business carbon footprint.
To date, IG Design Group UK has funded the creation of more than 166,000 square metres of new native woodland in the UK. This effort ensures that the equivalent of the CO2 emissions generated by our UK sea freight activities are absorbed from the atmosphere by the trees planted over their lifetime.
Design Group UK Ltd are proud to be partnered with the Woodland Trust. We continue to invest in their Woodland Carbon Scheme. To date we have funded over 135,301 m2 of new native woodland mitigating the environmental impact of our import activities of all domestic sea freight and road freight to and from the UK ports.
We remain committed to achieving Net Zero emissions for our UK operations by 2035 (Scope 1 and 2) and will continue to explore and implement innovative strategies to reduce our environmental footprint.
