Design Group UK Brings Eco Nature Partnership to Life at Ysgol Garth Olwg
Design Group UK is proud to see its Eco Nature brand — the UK’s leading sustainable celebrations brand — making a tangible impact in communities, as part of its ongoing partnership with the Woodland Trust.
As a continuation of this initiative, Katie Brickle, Brand & Marketing Manager at Design Group UK, recently visited Ysgol Garth Olwg, representing the business and its commitment to hands-on environmental action.
The visit brought together Mrs G. Spanswick (Deputy Head of the Lower School), Headteacher Mr Edwards, Mr Bennett, and a group of pupils from the school’s Eco Forum, who took part in planting native trees supplied through the Woodland Trust’s free tree pack scheme — supported by Eco Nature as one of the contributing partners.
The tree planting session was led by the pupils themselves, who demonstrated a strong sense of responsibility and pride in their role as environmental ambassadors within the school. Their involvement reflects the growing importance of student-led sustainability initiatives, combining both environmental awareness and wellbeing.
Speaking following the visit, Katie Brickle commented:
“It was a privilege to visit Ysgol Garth Olwg and see first-hand the incredible enthusiasm and commitment of the children. Their passion for sustainability and their active role in the school’s Eco Forum were truly inspiring.
At Design Group UK, we believe sustainability should go beyond products — it’s about creating real, lasting impact in communities. Seeing the children planting these trees and understanding their importance brings our Eco Nature partnership with the Woodland Trust to life in the most meaningful way.”
The school is one of thousands across the UK benefiting from the Woodland Trust’s free tree scheme. Through its partnership with the Woodland Trust, Eco Nature helps fund the planting of UK-grown native trees for schools and communities, creating greener spaces, supporting biodiversity, and inspiring future generations.
The visit also reinforced the importance of collaboration between businesses and schools, showcasing how purpose-led brands like Eco Nature can support both environmental and educational outcomes.
Through initiatives like this, Design Group UK continues to demonstrate its commitment to sustainability — not only through its products, but through active engagement, a charity partnership, and empowering the next generation to make a difference.
